Vermont Pictures

Vermont was absolutely beautiful--and so green! I guess that's what happens when you have rain. These are the Green Mountains. Although, they look more like rolling hills to me. I guess you can't compare them to the Rockies.

Jade was the flower girl and Travis' nephew, Ayden, was the ring bearer. They were so cute together. Jade was even able to drag him out on the dance floor with her.

Trip to Vermont

We recently returned from our week long trip to Vermont and I can honestly say that the trip went much smoother than anticipated, especially considering we were traveling with two little ones. We went there to celebrate the wedding of our friends, Travis and Johanna. Both Justin and Jade were in the wedding. The trip started with an early flight out of COS. Jade was very excited to be flying again. Erica, completely unaware of what was going on, slept most of the way. Both of them did great and Erica only fussed as we were descending. We landed in Chicago just in time for lunch, so we grabbed a quick bite, spent some time walking around, and proceeded to board the next plane to Burlington. The weather was pretty much what we had expected, hot and humid. When we arrived, we checked into our hotel and met up with friends for dinner. The next few days went by in a blur. Justin went golfing with the other groomsmen (and the groom, of course) while the girls and I went to Johanna's parents' farm to learn how to feed calves and milk the cows. Jade had a lot of fun, especially playing in the hayloft. The following day was the rehearsal and last minute preparations for the wedding. At that point, a group of us checked into a beautiful old farmhouse that was built in the late 1800s. We spent the next couple of nights there so we could be closer to the location of the wedding. Saturday was the wedding. Again, the girls did great and the ceremony was beautiful. Unfortunately, it rained most of the day, but everyone made the best of it and remained in good spirits. Most people left the day after the wedding, but we wanted to see more of that part of the country, so we toured around. We even made stops at the Ben and Jerry's factory and a traditional working farm. It really was a great trip. We never felt rushed and the girls were very well behaved. We were fortunate to have this opportunity because without it, we probably would never go to Vermont. Pictures to follow.
